What is the Summer Transition Program?

The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) offers two types of Summer Transition Programs which operate during the months of June and July. Each program offers high-quality instruction with a focus on language, literacy and math and are designed to reduce the achievement gap.

Rising Pre-K – for students who are age eligible for Georgia’s Pre-K in the fall (4 years of age by September 1st) and whose home language is Spanish

Rising Kindergarten – for students who are age eligible for Kindergarten (5 years of age by September 1st) in the fall

For more than 7 years Voices has hosted a “Summer Transition Spotlight” event to highlight Georgia's innovative Summer Transition Program (STP).
