INFLUENCE

Changing the laws, investments, and priorities of Georgia to remove barriers and inequities will improve the lives of our children.

Top Issues for Children and Families
During the 2021 Legislative Session, Voices for Georgia’s Children followed 387 pieces of child-relevant legislation. Bills and the budget focused on everything from stemming loss of instruction to increasing children’s access to healthcare. Read about it in our Top Issues for Children and Families.

COVID-19 Response
COVID-19 upended the world. In April 2020, as the Public Health Emergency was underway, Voices for Georgia’s Children quickly assessed the highest policy priorities related to child well-being, creating a dashboard to track what state government was doing to mitigate the challenges presented by the pandemic as well as lay out recommendations for actions not yet taken. We compiled an evolving list of key resources for families and children to support their basic needs and mental health.
