Each year since 2007, Voices has honored Georgia’s top child advocates at our Big Voice for Children Awards. The 2011 awards dinner took place on November 18 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Atlanta, and included welcoming remarks by Governor Nathan Deal.
Individually, our 2011 honorees have improved inner-city living conditions for families, defended youth navigating the state’s complex juvenile justice system, built home libraries for children, advocated at the capitol for education and provided essential child health services to communities, especially those in rural areas. Together, they have improved the overall well being of Georgia’s children.
